Our Daf XF106 Project
The lorry build project commenced with the thorough process of viewing, purchasing, and collecting the lorry. Once acquired, the vehicle underwent a comprehensive servicing, addressing all fluids and filters, meticulously checked over by our skilled fitter.
Following the initial preparations, the project moved to the modification phase. Various adjustments were made, including the installation of sliding generator mounts, relocation of air lines, ABS, and light sockets. The rear tow bar underwent modifications to enhance its capability for transporting a broader range of rides, coupled with the addition of a Dutch-style rear light board.
The truck then entered the bespoke paint job stage. This involved an intricate process, starting with sandblasting the chassis and wheels, followed by the removal and painting of individual panels and parts, ensuring a customized and polished finish.
Further enhancements were incorporated into the design, including additional driving and spot lights, along with strategically placed light bars on the roof and bumper. The project also involved fitting air horns, side skirts, and chequer plate infills in the chassis, adding both aesthetic appeal and functional features.
With meticulous attention to detail and a series of carefully executed stages, the lorry build project transformed a standard vehicle into a customized, fully-equipped powerhouse ready for a diverse range of uses.
The New Carousel
Welcoming our newest addition to the fleet—the children's carousel! You might notice it looks a bit like its older sibling in colour and style, prompting the question, "Did they just hit copy-paste?" But fear not, we still have the old one, and together they'll tag-team between wristband events, carnivals, fetes, and private hires, ensuring double the fun.

Now, let's talk upgrades! This vibrant carousel boasts additional road and travel lighting, ensuring it's not just a star at the event but also on the journey there. The new carousel now featuring rear fog and reverse lights—because even carousels need to be road-safe fashionistas. Speaking of safety, we've added a bigger bottom step for little ones to get onto and off of the ride easier. The new 'magic eye' kit guarantees the ride stops in the same spot it started, saving us from a carousel that thinks it's a wanderer. We have also had a few small additions such as a different style air horn, and chequer plate around the bottom of the centre to stop shoe scuff marks on the artwork!
Dive into the details, and you'll find delightful variations in the carousel's toys, injecting an extra dose of excitement for the kiddos. We've sprinkled in some minor colour changes for a fresh look, and the speakers have gotten an upgrade, so every ride is a symphony of joy. And let's not forget the artistic touches! Different characters now grace the new ride, adding an extra layer of enchantment for our young riders.
So, buckle up because this carousel duo is ready to spin its way into the hearts of kids and adults alike, bringing laughter and enchantment to every event! We are yet to have it set up at an event, so watch this space for updates!
The Race-O-Rama
After a long, exhausting day of scouring the market for new lorries and finding nothing that fit the bill, we were left feeling frustrated and defeated. But then an idea sparked—why not invest in something more exciting? That’s when we decided to order a brand-new ride: Race-o-Rama. It felt like the perfect solution to add something unique and thrilling to our line-up. The only catch was the waiting list—two and a half years. Undeterred, we got ourselves on that list and began the countdown to our build slot, imagining all the possibilities in the meantime.
When our turn finally came, we sat down with the manufacturer to start planning the design of the ride. This was where the fun began. Every detail was discussed—from the overall colour scheme and paint to the lighting and car liveries. We chose bold, eye-catching designs to make sure Race-o-Rama would stand out. We also mapped out the placement of flags and spotlights, envisioning where they’d make the biggest impact. Even small details, like the specific shade of lighting to surround the iconic Lightning McQueen sign on the roof, were carefully decided. We wanted the ride to be nothing short of spectacular.
The build process itself was a fascinating experience. From start to finish, it took about three months, though timelines depended on the manufacturer’s workload. Every piece of the ride was crafted with precision: components were laser-cut, welded, and expertly fitted in-house. Initially, everything was assembled in its raw form to ensure a perfect fit. Afterward, the pieces were disassembled and sent out for finishing—whether that meant painting, powder coating, or anodising. Once completed, the freshly finished parts were returned to the manufacturer, where the final assembly began. Watching it all come together was nothing short of magic.
When the ride was finished, it was time for us to collect it. Seeing Race-o-Rama fully assembled for the first time, with all the lights wired up, cars fitted, and a successful test run under its belt, was an unforgettable moment. We made the trip to the manufacturer, where they walked us through everything—how to set up the ride, pack it down, and operate it safely. With that knowledge in hand, we hitched it up to the lorry and headed back to our base, thrilled to finally call it ours.
The first outing for Race-o-Rama was a fireworks event, and it couldn’t have been a better debut. Setting it up for the first time felt like an accomplishment in itself, but seeing the kids’ reactions made it all worthwhile. The ride looked incredible—its vibrant artwork and dazzling lights were a hit both in daylight and after dark. It was a proud moment, watching our vision come to life and knowing that Race-o-Rama would bring joy to countless families in the years to come.
